MULTIPLE TORNADOS HIT MEMPHIS !!!

I knew when I left for work this a.m at 0600 and it was 60 degrees- it started storming really bad... and the tv just reminded me to make an emergency kit; Guess I will. Multiple tornado's have hit Memphis -and I'm headin' down to Memphis town in two days. They have round two and round three of tornado's heading into Memphis in the next few hours. Tornados' are heading into Nashville right now -then into our area. I'm going to bed. Certainly not to rest easily. Lovely, don't'cha think. I went to bed once under these conditions before April 8th, 1999, I woke up and it was April 9th, 1999 and a tornado had hit my area.....it was ugli. Veri ugli.

San Francisco, CA (AHN) - Storms and tornadoes struck Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday afternoon causing power outages that forced Super Tuesday polling precincts to close early and damaged homes, malls and an airport hangar.

A tornado in Arlington also knocked down trees and a police communication tower. Trees were also downed and city schools were closed at 12:30 p.m.

Election precincts in Dyer, McNairy, Tipton and Fayette counties were closed early to prevent injury to poll workers. Voting was until 7 p.m. but the precincts were shut at 6 p.m.

WATV-TV reported at least 11,000 power outages in Shelby County.

A portion of the Hickory Ridge and Sears malls were damaged trapping people in debris. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

A FedEx hangar at the Memphis International Airport was heavily damaged.

A tornado watch is in effect in Nashville.
